On Sunday April 28th at The Huxely in downtown DC, I had the pleasure of attending a fashion show with a cause. The cause? To raise awareness (and funds) for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to help find a cure for blood cancers. And what better way than through fashion, music, and good food?
Hosted by Paul Wharton, from Real Housewives of DC fame and his own Paul Wharton Style tv show, the event was held in honor of Roxana Muzzammel, a nominated candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2013 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Guests included Girl of the Year Madison Nardi, a blood cancer survivor, and a three designer showcase, featuring Haute Heritage, Chrisopher Schafer Clothier, and international clothing brand Hoss Intropia.
Guests mingled before the show with food and drinks, as well as checking out the silent auction items. Spa treatments and luxury handbags rounded out the amazing selection. After the runway show, it was auction time! The items were quickly snatched up, and mc Paul Wharton made sure everyone had a fun time bidding.
The event turned out to be a successful one; Muzzammel and her team were able to surpass the fundraising goals for the night! Just goes to show, spending money for a worthy cause, while having fun, is never a bad idea :)
